Five of the six original open questions are now answered from documents and email. The mortgage is confirmed, both loans are identified, and the succession plan is on record. One question remains: when the Bank of Ireland fixed rate ends.
£4,138.05 a month — 58.6% of net salary, £49,656 a year — is the Bank of Ireland UK mortgage on 36 Chudleigh Road, remortgaged in March 2023. It appears on statements as "Bank of Ireland Cards", which is what made it look like a credit card.
Proof. Email from rome@boi.com refers explicitly to
"your Bank of Ireland UK mortgage account" (4 Nov 2025, repeated 31 Mar 2026), and the
LMS conveyancing pack (ref 6862790) documents the March 2023 remortgage jointly with Violaine.
Balance outstanding £746,778.
It is in no document and no email. The payment stepped from £4,085.26 to £4,138.05 at the end of 2025, which is the shape of a product change. At £49,656 a year, this single date moves the household budget more than anything else in this hub.
Log in to the Bank of Ireland UK mortgage account, find the date, and record it.
The fixed-rate date nobody knows, a will that has never been executed, and a Junior ISA allowance being lost every April. See the full actions list →
